Manchester United fear that Marcus Rashford could be out for a number of weeks with the injury that he picked up against Everton, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly fearful that Marcus Rashford could be facing a number of weeks on the sidelines with the injury that he picked up against Everton on Saturday.

The 25-year-old has been in excellent form for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 28 goals and registering 10 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.

Rashford was not on the scoresheet against Everton at Old Trafford, but he came up with an assist for Man United's second of the match, with Anthony Martial converting a cross from the Englishman.

The Red Devils academy product was substituted in the 81st minute of the Premier League clash, though, and he headed straight down the tunnel to receive treatment on what looked to be an issue with his groin.

According to The Sun, Man United are expecting to be without Rashford for Thursday's Europa League semi-final first leg with Sevilla at Old Trafford.

However, there is said to be a real fear that the Englishman could be out for a number of weeks, which would be a huge blow for a team still chasing silverware in three competitions.

Man United are in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and semi-finals of the FA Cup, while they can technically still win the Premier League despite that being highly unlikely at this stage of the season, sitting fourth in the table, 17 points behind leaders Arsenal.

Speaking after the clash with Everton, Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag admitted that he was concerned by the possible severity of the issue at this stage of the season.

The Man United players have not been present at Carrington for the last two days, but they will return to the training base on Tuesday to prepare for the contest with Sevilla.

As a result, a full assessment of Rashford's injury will be made on Tuesday, with Ten Hag then expected to provide an update during his press conference on Wednesday.

The 20-time English champions still have another six matches to play before the end of the month, following the Sevilla clash with a trip to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday.

Man United will then head to Sevilla for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final before taking on Brighton & Hove Albion in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The team's month will then end with league games against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

Rashford's future at Old Trafford remains the subject of much speculation, with his current deal due to expire next summer, but Man United are allegedly hopeful of signing him to a new contract in the near future.
