Gareth Bale misses Real Madrid training

Gareth Bale misses Real Madrid's training session on Monday after picking up a hip strain in Saturday's pre-season friendly with Roma.

Gareth Bale missed Real Madrid's pre-season training session on Monday after picking up a strain in Saturday's clash with Roma in Melbourne.

The Welshman, who started alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the final third, played deep into the second period in Australia, before being replaced.

According to AS, Bale picked up a hip strain during the friendly, but it is understood that he will be fit for Friday's clash with Manchester City despite missing training.

Bale, who struggled to replicate his 2013-14 form for Real Madrid last season, continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United.
