Manchester United's Angel di Maria ruled out of Liverpool clash

Louis van Gaal confirms that Angel di Maria is ruled out of Manchester United's clash against Liverpool with a hamstring injury.

Manchester United star Angel di Maria will play no part in Sunday's showdown against arch rivals Liverpool due to a hamstring injury.

Recent reports claimed that the Argentina international was expected to return to action at Old Trafford this weekend after spending the club's last two games on the sidelines.

However, manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed to MUTV that Di Maria is not fit enough to feature on Sunday and he will join defender Chris Smalling on the treatment table.

Luke Shaw and Daley Blind remain out of contention, but Phil Jones and Rafael da Silva are available for selection.
