Sports Mole looks at how many Premier League matches Leny Yoro could miss for Manchester United after confirmation of his metatarsal injury.

Manchester United have been hit with the news that new signing Leny Yoro will be on the sidelines for the next three months with a fractured metatarsal.

The 18-year-old was forced off the field in the latter stages of the first half against Arsenal last weekend and was seen on crutches ahead of his side's fourth friendly of the summer on Wednesday night.

Yoro has fractured his metatarsal, which will keep him out for the next three months, and here Sports Mole takes a look at how many Premier League games the centre-back is likely to miss.

If the three months starts from now, Yoro will be out until November 1, meaning that as well as missing Premier League action, the teenager will be absent for the early stages of the team's Europa League and EFL Cup campaigns.

Yoro had been in line to make his Premier League debut against Fulham on August 16, with the defender expected to be a starter for the club this season despite his age.

However, the Frenchman will now be absent against Marco Silva's side, in addition to the trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on August 24.

Yoro will also miss Man United's four league games in September against Liverpool, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils will then play three more Premier League fixtures in October against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham United.

Yoro could potentially return against Chelsea

It remains to be seen how the injury develops, but Yoro is set to miss at least nine Premier League matches for the 20-time English champions.

His first competitive appearance could potentially come against Chelsea on November 2, but it would not be a surprise if the youngster was held back until the game the following weekend against Leicester City.

Yoro will also, of course, miss the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 10.

There were immediate concerns when Yoro limped off the field against Arsenal; it had initially been thought that the centre-back would only miss the team's first three matches of the new Premier League campaign, but the news is much worse.

What about Hojlund?

Rasmus Hojlund, meanwhile, suffered a hamstring issue against Arsenal, and the Denmark international is facing six weeks on the sidelines.

As well as the Community Shield, the 21-year-old is set to miss the team's opening three matches of the new Premier League campaign against Fulham, Brighton and Liverpool.

There is a chance that Hojlund could be back against Southampton on September 14, with that fixture taking place after the international break.

It had initially been thought that the striker would be fit for the Community Shield, but his hamstring issue is more serious than expected.

Man United also need to assess both Marcus Rashford and Antony after the duo were forced off during Wednesday's 3-2 win over Real Betis, although it is believed that the former only suffered an impact injury.
