Marouane Fellaini praises Louis van Gaal's tactics

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini praises manager Louis van Gaal's tactical nous as the Red Devils seal a 3-1 win against Preston North End in the FA Cup.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has praised manager Louis van Gaal's tactical nous as the Red Devils came from behind to seal a 3-1 win against Preston North End in the FA Cup fifth-round clash at Deepdale.

Scott Laird fired the hosts into the lead in the second half, but strikes from Ander Herrera and Fellaini, plus a penalty from Wayne Rooney, ensured that the Old Trafford outfit would not be on the receiving end of an upset.

Fellaini told BBC Sport: "We knew it would be very hard but we won today and that's what's most important. We changed the game, we know the quality of Ashley Young, he can cross and it was an important substitution.

"I like to play forward, I can score goals but the manager is the boss."

United will host Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the competition.
