Harry Kane keen to learn from England teammate Wayne Rooney

England striker Harry Kane heaps praise on "fantastic" teammate Wayne Rooney, who he tips to provide the ammunition required to fire the Three Lions to glory this summer.

Harry Kane has admitted that he is relishing the chance to play in the same England side as Wayne Rooney at this summer's European Championship.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker is expected to get the nod up top for the Three Lions' group games with Russia, Wales and Slovakia, while Rooney could be selected in a deeper midfield role.

Despite the debate over the Manchester United and England captain's best position continuing to rumble on, Kane has no doubts that his international teammate still has a big part to play - something which he is hoping to learn from.

"Wayne's a fantastic player," he told Sky Sports News. "I think you've seen throughout his entire career that he doesn't just score goals, he creates goals and has a great pass in him.

"If the manager picks him in the deeper role and picks me up top, of course I would be looking forward to that kind of service. He's a great player, he's our captain, his stats are there to show and as a striker that is all you can look at.

"He's a great trainer, he works very hard and obviously when he is here next week he will look to continue that. I can only learn off players like Wayne, as we all can from the experienced players, I am looking forward to it."

Rooney recently admitted that he is currently better suited to playing in midfield for both club and country.
