Lou Macari wants Danny Welbeck start

Lou Macari feels that Danny Welbeck should be given a chance to start for Manchester United against Olympiacos.

Former Manchester United frontman Lou Macari has urged David Moyes to start Danny Welbeck during Wednesday's night's Champions League tie against Olympiacos.

The Red Devils go into the clash at Old Trafford with a 2-0 deficit following a defeat in Greece three weeks ago.

With January signing Juan Mata cup-tied, Macari believes that United's need for goals should result in Welbeck being included within the starting lineup.

"On Wednesday night, I would play with Danny Welbeck, Van Persie, Rooney and Januzaj - four attack-minded players. We need to score goals. We need to get ourselves back into that tie, and then we obviously need to score another couple to qualify," he told MUTV.

United have hosted Olympiacos on two previous occasions, winning 3-0 and 4-0, which are results that if repeated, would see Moyes's side advance through to the quarter-finals.
