Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku appears to accuse some of his teammates of "hiding" in their Champions League exit to Sevilla.

Romelu Lukaku has appeared to criticise some of his Manchester United teammates after they crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Sevilla last night.

Jose Mourinho's side went into the home leg of their last-16 encounter with the advantage, having held the La Liga side to a goalless draw in the first leg, but were stunned late on by two goals from Wissam Ben Yedder in the space of five minutes.

Lukaku did manage to pull one back for the hosts but it proved too little too late for the Red Devils, whose only chance of silverware this season now lies in the FA Cup.

"Some things were flawed with some players, some players were hiding," the Belgian told BT Sport afterwards. "The deception was really big, because you know I think we started the game well, and then we started to let them have control in the game. Then we had a few half chances but we didn't really score, and then they scored the first goal.

"From that moment on we tried to chase the game and they scored the second one which was a big blow. At the end we kept pushing but it was not enough.

"We should have done better because the bit of quality we have in the team, we should have went through. We didn't deserve it because we weren't good enough."

United next welcome Brighton & Hove Albion in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup this Saturday.
