Michael Carrick disappointed with Olympiacos defeat

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick expresses his disappointment following his side's defeat against Olympiacos.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has expressed his disappointment following his side's Champions League defeat against Olympiacos.

Alejandro Dominguez and Joel Campbell scored in each half to give the Greek side a two-goal lead in the first leg of their last-16 tie.

Carrick felt that United failed to create any clear goalscoring opportunities on the evening, but is confident that they can respond in the second leg at Old Trafford.

"It's a disappointing night. We feel like we are still in with a chance going back to Old Trafford," he told ITV Sport.

"We've lost a game. We came here hoping to win but we are not out of the tie. It's not ideal. We had good possession in the first half without penetrating through their lines but at the same time they didn't cause us any problems.

"We didn't start the second half well and that put us on the back foot. We are not getting results and as players we have to take that on the chin. You're looking for me to blame someone but everyone at the club is judged by results."

The second leg will take place on March 19.
