Schalke 04: 'Manchester City cannot afford Leroy Sane'

Manchester City have not got enough money to convince Schalke 04 to sell 19-year-old attacker Leroy Sane in January, according to the German club's general manager.

Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt has claimed that 'even Manchester City' do not have the funds needed to make the German club sell Leroy Sane this January.

It has been reported that Man City are preparing to make an offer for the 19-year-old when the winter transfer window opens for business.

However, Heldt has insisted that the teenage attacker is not for sale at any price.

"We don't want to sell him and Leroy doesn't want to leave the club," Heldt told Bild. "Even Man City haven't got that much money!"

Sane, who has had a hand in eight goals for Schalke this season, scoring four himself, has also been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool over the last couple of months.
