Belgium defender Jason Denayer reportedly wants to join Sunderland on a permanent transfer when the January transfer window opens for business.
The 21-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at the Stadium of Light from Manchester City, who are yet to hand the seven-time Belgian international a first-team debut.
The Sun quotes a Man City insider as saying: "Jason is being kept in the dark over his future at Sunderland, but he likes it up there. He is keen to down his permanent roots somewhere.
"He doesn't know if they will go in for him just yet though. The issue with the whole thing surrounds the future of David Moyes, but results have picked up for him recently."
Denayer, who has been on loan at Celtic and Galatasaray respectively in the last two seasons, has made five Premier League appearances for Sunderland this season.
