Kevin De Bruyne reportedly prefers a move to MLS over the Saudi Pro League, with the Manchester City attacker potentially departing the Premier League champions at the end of the campaign.
The Belgium international only has a contract with the Citizens until June 2025, and it is still unclear whether he will be penning an extension with Pep Guardiola's side, or leave for a new challenge in the latter stages of his career.
De Bruyne, 33, has been restricted to just six appearances this season due to injury, while he has only managed one goal and one assist during a low-key 2024-25 campaign to date for the experienced attacker.
According to GIVEMESPORT, San Diego FC, who were only founded in May 2023, have held discussions with the Belgian's camp over a possible move to North America next year.
The report claims that De Bruyne prefers a switch to the MLS over the Saudi Pro League, and he is said to have expressed an interest in moving to San Diego on a free transfer.

De Bruyne 'prefers MLS move over Saudi Pro League switch'
Man City have not yet given up hope of convincing De Bruyne to sign a new contract, but there is a feeling that this season could be his last with the Citizens.
The Saudi Pro League are allegedly still confident that they would be able to place a contract on the table that would convince De Bruyne to move to the division next summer.
Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli would likely be the favourites, should De Bruyne signal that a move to Saudi Arabia is on the cards, and the attacker admitted earlier this summer that he was open to a switch to the lucrative decision.
"At my age, you have to be open to everything," De Bruyne told HLN. "You're talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the last stage of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that."

What has De Bruyne achieved at Man City?
De Bruyne made the move to Man City from Werder Bremen in 2015, and he has represented the Citizens on 388 occasions in all competitions, scoring 103 goals and registering 171 assists in the process.
The Belgian has won six Premier League titles, two FA Cup trophies, the Champions League and five League Cups during a highly-successful period at the Etihad Stadium.
De Bruyne has been on the sidelines since the middle of September with a hamstring problem, though, with the attacker again absent for his side's 1-0 success over Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Citizens allegedly view Bayer Leverkusen attacker Florian Wirtz as a potential replacement for De Bruyne.
