Manchester City are reportedly determined to bring Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich to the Etihad Stadium during next summer's transfer window.
The Citizens are expected to prioritise a new central midfielder in 2024, with head coach Pep Guardiola said to want genuine competition for Rodri.
Kalvin Phillips is set to leave the club next year, while Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes have been inconsistent for the club since their recent arrivals.
According to Football Transfers, Man City have identified Kimmich as their number one target, with the Germany international potentially being allowed to leave Bayern next year.
The report claims that Kimmich is facing an uncertain future at Allianz Arena due to a falling-out with head coach Thomas Tuchel, and he could potentially be moved on during next summer's market.

Kimmich was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona over the summer, but the midfielder's valuation ultimately meant that the La Liga champions were unable to sign him.
The German will soon enter the final 18 months of his contract at Allianz Arena, and it is alleged that Bayern would be willing to let him leave for the right price.
The 28-year-old has again been an important player for Tuchel's side during the 2023-24 campaign, making 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing six assists.
Meanwhile, the midfielder has 41 goals and 100 assists in 367 appearances for the Munich giants since arriving from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2015.

Kimmich has also enjoyed huge success at Bayern in terms of trophies, winning eight Bundesliga titles, three German Cups and the Champions League.
Barcelona are thought to remain attentive to the situation, with their head coach Xavi claiming in June that his club were interested in bringing him to Camp Nou.
"He is a super top player, who understands the game in a fantastic way. If there is an open door, there will be a negotiation with Bayern," Xavi told Mundo Deportivo at the time.
However, Barcelona are expected to prioritise permanent moves for on-loan duo Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix next summer, with Real Sociedad's Mikel Merino said to now be their main target in midfield.
As a result, Man City could have a relatively free run at signing Kimmich, with a departure likely at the end of the campaign unless he signs a new contract with the German champions.
