Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly contemplating whether to make a late bid for Sporting Lisbon defender Nuno Mendes.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly emerged as potential destinations for Sporting Lisbon defender Nuno Mendes.

The 19-year-old made 29 appearances last season as Sporting upstaged Porto and Benfica to win the Primeira Liga title.

However, despite that triumph also securing Champions League qualification, it appears that Sporting may be prepared to cash in on the youngster.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese champions are willing to do business at €40m (£34.28m) before close of business on Tuesday.

Romano adds that the player's representatives have made contact with Man City and PSG to discuss a possible deal.

The left-back still has four years remaining on his contract at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.
