Manchester City reportedly learn what it would cost to complete the transfer of Fulham defender Antonee Robinson during the summer transfer window.

Manchester City reportedly learn what it will take to turn their interest in Fulham defender Antonee Robinson into a summer signing.

Pep Guardiola has made an attempt to refresh his first-team squad at the Etihad Stadium, as well agreeing deals for a number of prospects.

However, left-back has proven to be a problem area, with Benjamin Mendy initially being suspended by the club due to a court case, in which he has been partially acquitted.

Despite that development, the Frenchman is expected to be released by City at the end of the season, and the Premier League giants face further uncertainty on that side of their backline.

Joao Cancelo, who can play on either flank, has departed for Bayern Munich on loan due to alleged frustration over his playing time, while Sergio Gomez has not built on his fast start to life at the club.

Instead, Nathan Ake is being deployed there on a more regular basis, rather than in the centre, and it has highlighted the need for Guardiola to address the situation during the next transfer window.

According to The Sun, the North West outfit hold an interest in securing a deal for Robinson ahead of 2023-24.

The 25-year-old has overcome the disappointment of missing out on a transfer to AC Milan earlier in his career due to a failed medical to establish himself as a key player for club and country.

Robinson has made 89 appearances for Fulham during two-and-a-half seasons at Craven Cottage, while he played every minute during USA's four matches of the World Cup.

Although Fulham would naturally like to retain the services of Robinson, less than 18 months remain on his contract with the West Londoners.

The report states that Fulham would be prepared to cash in on the attack-minded full-back if they receive an offer in the region of £35m.

While Robinson has admirers in Italy, it is suggested that they are unlikely to be tempted to meet the demand for that level of transfer fee.

As it stands, it is unclear whether Robinson is prepared to consider a contract renewal at Fulham, who are pushing to try to qualify for European football in 2023-24.
