Manchester City are reportedly on the brink of securing the signature of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fernandinho.
The Brazilian has been long been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, with the player stating numerous times in the past that he is desperate to join the Manchester outfit.
The Ukrainian side were seemingly unwilling to allow the 28-year-old to leave the Donbass Arena, but reports claim that Fernandinho will join City within the next few days.
Shakhtar had inserted a buyout clause of £42.5m into his contract, £15m more than the Premier League outfit's valuation of the player, but it is thought that negotiations are taking place between the two sides.
City, who have already signed Sevilla's Jesus Navas this summer, will apparently spend £40m on Fernandinho.
