Erling Braut Haaland will be looking to achieve two Premier League hat-trick feats when Manchester City face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The Norwegian is enjoying a remarkable debut campaign in the English top flight and currently sits at the top of the scoring charts after netting 27 goals in just 25 league appearances.

Haaland has broken a plethora of records since joining City from Borussia Dortmund last summer and recently became the Citizens' highest goalscorer in a single Premier League campaign when he found the net in the 4-1 win at Bournemouth two weeks ago.

The 22-year-old will attempt to write his name to the history books once again when Pep Guardiola's side make the trip to the capital to take on Crystal Palace, with two more scoring feats up for grabs.

Haaland had plenty of joy in front of goal against the Eagles earlier this season as he netted his first Premier League hat-trick in a 4-2 victory back in August – a contest that City were losing 2-0 at half time before the Norwegian's treble and a strike from Bernardo Silva turned the game on its head.

Should Haaland score another three goals against Palace on Saturday, he will become only the second player in Premier League history to score two hat-tricks against an opponent in the same season.

Former Man City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is the only player to have previously achieved the scoring feat when he netted a hat-trick for Arsenal in both home and away fixtures against Derby Country in 2007-08.

Haaland has scored a total of four Premier League hat-tricks this season, with his treble against Palace followed by three goals scored in wins over Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The striker become the fastest player in Premier League history to score four hat-tricks in the competition when he netted his most recent treble against Wolves in January, completing the feat in just 19 matches – surpassing the previous record set by former Man United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy (65 games).

All four of Haaland's hat-tricks have been scored at the Etihad Stadium, but should he net his first away treble on Saturday, he will equal Alan Shearer's record of five Premier League hat-tricks in the same season.

Haaland will also have one eye on the all-time Premier League Golden Boot record, as he is just five goals away from equalling Mohamed Salah's record of 32 goals in a single 38-game Premier League season, while the Norwegian is only seven strikes behind both Shearer and Andy Cole who scored 34 goals in a 42-match season.

Man City could move to within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal with a win over Crystal Palace, before the Gunners take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
