Report: Manuel Pellegrini told his job as Manchester City manager is safe

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak tells Manuel Pellegrini that he will stay as manager next season.

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has reportedly told manager Manuel Pellegrini that he will be in charge of the team next season.

The Chilean coach was widely expected to part company with the North-West outfit this summer after failing to retain the Premier League title.

City also struggled in the Champions League and they dropped out of the League Cup and FA Cup in the early rounds.

Despite Pellegrini looking nailed on to leave the club, City's chairman reportedly held talks with the manager on Sunday informing him that he will keep his job.

According to The Mirror, City have opted to stand by Pellegrini as they have been unable to lure Pep Guardiola from Bayern Munich.

The team and coaching staff landed in Canada last night for the club's North American tour.
