Manchester City have continued their unbeaten form this season with a 4-0 away victory over Blackburn Rovers.
The first half ended goalless despite a number of chances for City. David Silva made the first threatening shot on ten minutes but struck over the crossbar. Mario Balotelli went on to strike wide twice within the closing five minutes of the half.
Meanwhile, the visitors' Sergio Aguero limped off with a groin injury just before the half-hour mark to be replaced by Samir Nasri.
The scoring finally opened after 56 minutes as Adam Johnson struck home after an Aleksandar Kolarov corner. Balotelli followed up with a second three minutes later with the help of Nasri, who later went on to give the Citizens a 3-0 lead. Stefan Savic delivered the final goal in the closing minutes of the game with a close-range header.
Manchester City remain second in the table on goal difference with 19 points, while Steve Kean's side remain in the relegation zone with four.
