Newcastle United will hold talks with Patrick Vieira next week over their vacant head coach position, according to reports.
The Magpies are expected to snub caretaker boss John Carver, who took over in January when Alan Pardew left to join Crystal Palace.
Sky Sports News reports that Vieira will meet with Newcastle officials next week to discuss the role, which would be his first senior management job.
The 38-year-old has been in charge of Manchester City's Elite Development squad since 2013 and has worked at the club since he retired from playing in 2011.
Newcastle have also been linked with Steve McClaren.
