Manuel Pellegrini: Yaya Toure "getting better"

Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure receives backing from his Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has expressed his belief that Yaya Toure has started to get back to his best form.

Following speculation regarding his future at the Etihad Stadium throughout the summer, the Ivorian received criticism for some of the performances that he produced earlier in the season.

However, Pellegrini has insisted that he has seen signs of late that the 31-year-old is "getting better".

"Yaya has the quality to make a difference. He had a difficult summer but every game he is getting better," he told reporters.

Toure has scored twice in 10 appearances so far this term.
