Frank Lampard has revealed his elation about signing off his career in the Premier League with a goal in Manchester City's 2-0 win over Southampton.
The 36-year-old will join up with MLS side New York City FC after completing his loan spell with the Citizens.
Lampard has admitted that he will not return to the top flight of English football, but is delighted with the career he has had in the Premier League with West Ham United, Chelsea and Manuel Pellegrini's men.
He told BBC Sport: "I couldn't have wished for anything for else. I'm proud of all of it. For a young boy with a dream to play in the Premier League, to go to my home-town club West Ham and then go to Chelsea and win everything, it doesn't get better.
"I'm a lucky boy, to come to a big club like this for a season, I've made a lot of friends."
Lampard has made 609 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 177 goals.
