Vincent Kompany is almost certain to miss Manchester City's trip to Newcastle United due to a hamstring concern.

Roberto Mancini has given captain Vincent Kompany a "two per cent" chance of being fit for Manchester City's match with Newcastle United on Sunday.

The Belgian limped out of the derby defeat to Manchester United after suffering a hamstring strain during the first half.

He returned to City training on Friday but is almost certain to miss the trip to St James' Park.

Kolo Toure was his replacement against the Red Devils and either he or Joleon Lescott will deputise if Kompany is unavailable as expected.
