Aymeric Laporte has broken two Premier League records following Manchester City's 2-0 victory away at Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
Two goals before the half-hour mark from Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan helped the Citizens move back to the top of the table, after Liverpool had momentarily climbed to the summit following their 2-0 win against Watford in the lunchtime kickoff.
Laporte made his 100th Premier League appearance for Pep Guardiola's side at Turf Moor, and today's victory was his 82nd – the most by any player in their first 100 matches in the competition's history.
The 27-year-old has now also accumulated a total of 254 points – more than any other player in their first 100 Premier League games, surpassing teammate Ederson and former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba (both 246 points).
Very proud to write a small part of @premierleague history, wouldn't have been possible without the incredible guys surrounding me tho. Let's keep it going 💙🔥 https://t.co/4Xae0PtE7x

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold (254) and former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic (243) make up the top five in this list, while City forward Gabriel Jesus is in sixth place having collected 242 points.
Laporte has been an important player for City at the heart of the defence this season, helping the Premier League leaders keep 15 clean sheets in 25 league appearances.
