Kevin De Bruyne insists that he only suffered cramp in the latter stages of Manchester City's 3-1 win over Leicester City.

Manchester City attacker Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that he suffered "just a bit of cramp" during Saturday's Premier League clash with Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola's side recovered from a 1-0 deficit to record a 3-1 win against the Foxes, who had been unbeaten in the league since the start of October ahead of the late kickoff.

De Bruyne was forced off in the latter stages of the contest, and there had been concerns that the Belgium international had picked up another potential knee problem.

However, the attacking midfielder has insisted that cramp forced him off rather than a potential long-term issue.

"[It was] just a bit of cramp. In the end my body said just take a rest," De Bruyne told Sky Sports News when questioned on the incident.

City are now just a point off second-placed Leicester in the Premier League table, although the reigning champions are still 11 points off leaders Liverpool, who now have a game in hand.
