Roma manager Rudi Garcia full of praise for "tremendous" Ashley Cole

Roma boss Rudi Garcia hails the contribution of Ashley Cole as the Giallorossi draw 1-1 at Manchester City in the Champions League.

Roma boss Rudi Garcia has hailed Ashley Cole's "tremendous" performance against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Italian giants held the Premier League champions to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad, and the Frenchman was more than happy with Cole's contribution on the night.

"Ashley was tremendous tonight," he told Sky Sport Italia. "The English air had a good effect on him. He proved he's a great champion.

"I'm proud of my team, we have shown we can stay in this group. We suffered in the last few minutes but we had the best chances to score. I'm very satisfied to have seen a Roma with huge personality.

"Taking a point tonight we leave City behind us and this game can give us confidence."

Roma have taken four points from their opening two Group E games.
