James Milner will reportedly remain with Manchester City on transfer deadline day, despite speculation surrounding the midfielder's future.
Milner will be out of contract at the end of this season and talks over a new deal at the Etihad have stalled.
Liverpool were said to be preparing a move for the England international on Monday, but according to the Daily Mail, the 29-year-old will remain at City.
Milner joined the Premier League champions from Aston Villa in 2010 and has played a crucial role over the last couple of seasons.
However, it is understood that the midfielder wants guarantees over his role in the team when Manuel Pellegrini has a fully-fit squad.
