Manchester City are reportedly preparing a surprise swoop for Liverpool forward Jerome Sinclair, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has been with Liverpool since 2011, but has only made three first-team appearances for the Merseyside outfit despite being rated highly by those at the club.
It is understood that the striker has refused to sign a new contract, and according to The Mirror, Man City are closely monitoring developments as they attempt to increase the number of English players in their squad.
Liverpool could be prepared to let the Englishman leave for a minimal fee in January rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of June 2016.
Sinclair, who has previously had a spell on loan at Wigan Athletic, made his Liverpool debut just six days after his 16th birthday in 2012.
