Liverpool are reportedly attempting to sign Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk winger Yevhen Konoplyanka before the close of the January transfer window on Friday.
Manager Brendan Rodgers claimed last night that he is hopeful of bringing in a "major signing" to Anfield having failed to land Mohamed Salah from Basel.
According to The Telegraph, the Premier League outfit will try to lure the Ukrainian international, who can play on either flank, to Merseyside for a fee that could rise to £16m.
The 24-year-old, who has previously been linked to Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, received plaudits for his performance against England in recent World Cup qualifiers.
Liverpool, who secured an emphatic 4-0 win over local rivals Everton last night, are yet to bring any new faces to Anfield in this window.
