Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly plotting an ambitious deal to lure Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to Anfield, if the club qualify for the Champions League.
Rodgers has already signalled his intent to recruit top class talent in the event that Reds finish in the top four and Marca claims that a "third party agent" has informed the Merseyside outfit that the French international is considering his future at the Bernebeu.
While Liverpool would face competition for Benzema's signature from Manchester City and Arsenal, it is thought that the club can put together an intriguing package to secure his services and the Northern Irish manager is excited by the potential partnership with Luis Suarez.
The report suggests that any deal would cost the Anfield club a fee in the region of £25m.
Benzema was part of Real's team which comfortably beat Elche to open up a three-point lead at the top of La Liga at the weekend.
