Liverpool will look to land Swansea City defender Ashley Williams as a replacement for Jamie Carragher, according to a report.
Carragher recently announced his decision to retire at the end of the campaign and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has targeted his former player in a bid to bolster his defensive ranks, according to the Liverpool Echo.
With doubts surrounding the ability of Sebastian Coates and the dip in form suffered by Martin Skrtel, Rodgers has made signing a centre-back his number one priority this summer, with Williams said to be topping the list.
The 28-year-old signed a new deal with the Swans in October, and would command a fee of around £8m.
