Report: Liverpool agree £8m Tiago Ilori fee

Reports suggest that Liverpool are closing in on the £8m signing of Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee in the region of £8m for Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori.

The 20-year-old - a long-term target of Reds boss Brendan Rodgers - is en route to Merseyside for a medical before he finalises terms, according to Sky Sports News.

Monaco and Valencia were also thought to be interested in the Portuguese centre-back, who has represented his country at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 level.

He could become one of two defensive recruits at Anfield after reports last night suggested that a £19.6m deal has been struck with Paris Saint-Germain for highly-rated 23-year-old Mamadou Sakho.
