Barcelona striker Luis Suarez 'wants Liverpool return'

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is reportedly increasingly unhappy at the Camp Nou and would be open to a return to former club Liverpool if he leaves the Spanish giants.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is reportedly considering leaving the club, with a return to European champions Liverpool of interest to him.

The Spanish champions have made a poor start to the 2019-20 season, winning just three of their seven matches across all competitions so far.

Suarez, along with talisman Lionel Messi, missed most of the opening weeks through injury but has drawn the ire of the Barcelona fans since his return and was whistled by a section of the supporters when he was subbed off during Tuesday's win over Villarreal.

Reports in Spain now suggest that the Uruguay international is increasingly unhappy at the Camp Nou and has begun to think about the possibility of leaving for the first time.

The report goes on to claim that former club Liverpool could be a potential destination, with the Reds thought to be open to a return for the 32-year-old.

Suarez could be available for less than €50m (£44.4m) with his contract due to expire in 2021 and would significantly bolster an attacking lineup which already contains the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 games during his three-and-a-half-year spell at Anfield.
