Liverpool have reportedly reignited their interest in Barcelona forward Cristian Tello.
The 20-year-old's future at the Nou Camp is in doubt following the club's decision not to assign him a squad number for the coming season.
Liverpool were said to be tracking Tello earlier this year, however speculation regarding a potential move cooled when former Reds manager Kenny Dalglish was sacked in May.
Dalglish's replacement, Brendan Rodgers, has now given his blessing to the move and the club are hopeful of signing the player during the current transfer window, according to The Mirror.
Tello has made 15 La Liga appearances, scoring three goals.
