Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly turned to Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette to bolster his wide options at Anfield.
Rodgers was believed to be keen to secure the services of Alexis Sanchez in the deal that took Luis Suarez to Barcelona, but the Chilean winger opted to join Arsenal.
That has left Rodgers to look for alternatives, with 23-year-old Lacazette one of his major targets, according to Mercato 365.
The attacker still has two years left to run on his contract at the Stade de Gerland, but it has been speculated that Lyon would sanction his sale for the right price.
The report adds that Lacazette would only depart his current employers for a club in the Champions League, which is why he is said to have rejected Newcastle United's recent advances.
