Liverpool are said to be plotting a bid for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Jason Steele.
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers wants to add another established stopper to his ranks to provide competition and cover for Pepe Reina and Brad Jones.
According to The People, Rodgers is likely to make a move for Steele in January and a bid of £2m could persuade the Championship side to sell.
The 22-year-old has racked up 88 first-team appearances for the Teesside club.
