Liverpool are reportedly lining up a January bid for Empoli star Riccardo Saponara.
The Reds have sent scouts to watch the attacking midfielder and are planning to table an offer when the transfer window reopens, according to Tuttosport.
The 23-year-old found the net seven times last season for Empoli, and has notched up four goals and three assists in eight starts for the Serie A side this term.
Empoli are said to be keen to hold on to Saponara, who is pushing for a place in Italy's Euro 2016 squad.
