Liverpool lining up bid for Karim Benzema?

A report claims that Brendan Rodgers sees Karim Benzema as a direct replacement for outgoing Luis Suarez at Liverpool.

Liverpool are lining up a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema as a replacement for Luis Suarez, according to a report.

The Reds are said to be in the final stages of selling Suarez to Barcelona for a fee in the region of £75m.

The Metro claims that manager Brendan Rodgers is now weighing up his options, with £40m Benzema his top target to join Anfield this summer.

Benzema, who has this week returned from World Cup duty with France, scored 22 goals for Madrid last season.
