Liverpool identify Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo Goes as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, according to a report.

Liverpool reportedly view Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo Goes as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Rodrygo officially linked up with Madrid ahead of the 2019-20 campaign and made a positive impression for the Spanish giants last term, scoring seven times and registering three assists in 26 outings in all competitions.

The 19-year-old has also been involved on a regular basis this season, managing one goal and three assists in eight appearances for Zinedine Zidane's side.

According to reports in Spain, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the teenager and has identified him as a possible replacement for Salah.

The Egypt international scored his 10th goal of the season in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon when he found the net against Manchester City and has now managed 104 strikes in 165 outings for the Reds.

There remains speculation surrounding his long-term future, though, with a number of clubs, including Madrid, said to be keeping a close eye on developments at Anfield.

Rodrygo still has four and a half years left to run on his contract with Los Blancos.
