Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that out-of-favour midfielder Naby Keita can still make a name for himself at Anfield in the future.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that Naby Keita's future is at Anfield despite his troubled campaign.

The 26-year-old has failed to make a name for himself on Merseyside since arriving from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2018, and injuries have largely prevented him from making an impact this season.

Having started just seven Premier League games in the 2020-21 campaign, Keita has been tipped to head elsewhere when the transfer window reopens, but Klopp believes that the midfielder can still come good at Anfield.

Speaking to reporters, Klopp said: "Naby trains really well in the moment, I have to say. He trains really well, like a lot of other players, and looks really good in training. But this year now we need stability.

"We will make changes from time to time definitely, but it's not like we pick now seven, eight, nine players to change and say, 'Maybe we can win it like this'. The long-term future of Naby Keita, from my point of view, is here, yes."

Keita has amassed seven goals and four assists from 76 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, and his existing deal does not expire until 2023.
