Fulham have reportedly informed Liverpool that they are willing to sell Clint Dempsey, as long as either Stewart Downing or Charlie Adam are included in the deal.
The Cottagers, who have been open about their desire to keep the USA international at the club, have not taken the 29-year-old on their pre-season tour of Switzerland.
It is understood that the West London outfit could budge on their tough stance and relinquish Dempsey to Anfield but only if Adam or Downing are used in a part-exchange deal, according to Goal.com.
Reports have claimed that the Reds are unwilling to match Fulham's asking price for Dempsey. However, it is thought that the Cottagers will accept a bid in the region of £6m for the playmaker.
