Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle hints that the club could move for Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing.

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has branded Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing "a wonderfully talented young player".

Spearing, 23, appeared 25 times for the Reds last season, but could find his chances limited this campaign following the addition of Joe Allen, prompting reported interest from Bolton.

"It's fair to say we're always going to be linked with players in that area, because we've said that's the type of player we're looking for," he told Sky Sports News.

"Jay Spearing's a wonderfully talented young player, but he's a Liverpool player and it's not for me to comment on anybody's players."

Spearing has made 54 first-team appearances for Liverpool.
