Philippe Coutinho "happy" at Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho outlines his ambition to remain at the club for the foreseeable future to help them win trophies.

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has insisted that he will remain at the club even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

The Brazilian has excelled in the heart of the Reds' midfield over the latter half of the season, and was linked with a move to his side's Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer.

However, Coutinho has outlined his desire to remain at Anfield for the foreseeable future to help the club pursue trophies.

He is quoted as saying by The Mirror: "My mind is at Liverpool. I'm a Liverpool player and I don't think about those things because I'm happy here and want to be here.

"Our aim is always to start the season thinking of winning titles and trophies. The Champions League is not out of reach yet mathematically, there are still possibilities, even though it is not 100% in our hands.

"We're in the semi-finals of a great competition and will do our best to win the FA Cup - it matters a lot to us as a club."

Liverpool play Aston Villa in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday.
