Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told Mario Gotze that he will have the final say over his playing future at the club.
The Germany international has been tipped with making a £15m move to Liverpool after reportedly growing frustrated at the Allianz Arena.
Adding further fuel to the fire, reports emerged recently suggesting that incoming Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti would be open to selling the World Cup-winning midfielder this summer.
Gotze himself hinted earlier this week that he planned on staying put at his current club, but Rummenigge has given him further time to deliberate before making a final decision.
"I had talks with [Gotze] and [Ancelotti]. Mario knows the thoughts of Bayern," Rummenigge told Kicker magazine. "Everything was clearly and seriously explained to Mario.
"He knows what the club thinks and what the new coach thinks. Mario has to evaluate for himself whether he wants to play constantly."
Gotze, also a rumoured target for former club Borussia Dortmund, is part of Germany's squad for this summer's European Championship finals in France.
