Jamie Redknapp has insisted that his former club Liverpool are once again contenders to become Premier League champions this season.
The Reds have made an unbeaten start so far, picking up three wins and a draw, with the latter taking place against Chelsea, only conceding one goal in the process.
Last season saw the team finish in third place, 17 points behind the eventual champions Manchester City, in what ended up being a trophyless campaign for the club.
"They can win the league, make no mistake about it," Redknapp told Sky Sports News after watching Jurgen Klopp's men brush aside Leeds United in a comfortable 3-0 victory.
"Last year there was no chance because they were playing with one hand behind their back, they lost virtually their whole defence at one point in the season.
"But this year, with the front three that they have got, and they have got the best centre-back in the league in Virgil van Dijk, he gives them every opportunity to win the league."
Liverpool are currently third in the Premier League table, level on points with both Chelsea and Manchester United, with Crystal Palace at home next up for the Reds.
