Thursday's Premier League predictions including Manchester City vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Thursday's Premier League action, including Sheffield United vs. Tottenham and Manchester City vs. Liverpool.

Two teams with aspirations of European qualification will meet at Bramall Lane on Thursday evening when out-of-form Sheffield United host Tottenham Hotspur in the Steel City.

The match will be Sheffield United's first at home in the Premier League since March 7, while it is also Tottenham's first away game since returning from lockdown.

We say: Sheffield United 0-1 Tottenham

Tottenham have not won a league game away to Sheffield United since 1975, but given the home side's form they may not have a better chance than right now.

The Blades' opening 28 games of the campaign should not be forgotten and they are still a difficult team to beat regardless of their last two results, but with Spurs back to almost a full complement of players we can see them edging this one.

Man City vs. Liverpool (Thursday, 8.15pm)

For the first time in 10,650 days, Liverpool will run out as champions of England when they take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night.

In a quirk of the fixture list, their maiden outing as Premier League winners comes against the team they usurped as kings of England, meaning that Man City will give their successors a guard of honour before the game.

We say: Man City 2-3 Liverpool

This fixture usually guarantees goals, and Thursday's clash is a particularly interesting one. Man City will want to make a point against the team that has taken their crown off them, whereas Liverpool will want to stamp their authority on a celebratory occasion.

It is a match which could easily go either way, but Liverpool are better suited to playing against Man City than any other team in the world and, with City's main priorities now laying elsewhere, we are backing the visitors to chalk up win number 29 of a remarkable season.
