Bolo Zenden: Rafael Benitez could return to Liverpool

Bolo Zenden admits that he could see Rafa Benitez returning to Anfield next season.

Former Liverpool midfielder Bolo Zenden has said that he can see Rafa Benitez returning to Anfield next season.

Zenden, who spent two seasons under the Spaniard, insists that the club appears to have been in "turmoil" ever since his departure in 2010. However, with new owners in place, the Dutchman believes that it could be time for Benitez to return.

"There seems to have been turmoil there ever since Benitez left," he told Goal.com.

"The league position itself – eighth behind Everton – is something that hurts in Liverpool and there have been a few transfers that have cost a lot.

"Benitez has done well for the club in the past. He left on a bit of a sore note but there are different people in charge now and so it would be different."

Meanwhile, Zenden has dismissed speculation linking Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola with the vacant managerial position.
