Liverpool midfielder Suso says that he is willing to fight for his position in the first team at Anfield.

Liverpool midfielder Suso has insisted that he is prepared to fight for his place at Anfield.

The Spaniard faces a battle to keep his spot in the first team following the acquisition of Daniel Sturridge and Fabio Borini's return from injury.

"There is going to be extra competition for places," Suso told the club's official matchday programme. "Playing for Liverpool's first team is going to be difficult and it should be because it is one of the best teams in Europe.

"The competition is good for me because it makes me determined to work even harder and to get better. But the most important thing is always the team."

The Merseyside club are preparing to face Oldham Athletic in the fourth round of the FA Cup this Sunday.
