Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has insisted that his side can use their win over West Ham United as a springboard for future success.
Shelvey played in an advanced position in the absence of suspended Luis Suarez at Upton Park, and helped create the winner 15 minutes from time.
The youngster thinks that Anfield is an exciting place to be with Brendan Rodgers at the helm.
He told Sky Sports News: "I'm going to claim the winner. But the main thing is getting three points. Now we've got a few home games so we can kick on.
I'm not a stranger to that forward role but it is about the team today and the team did well.
"The new manager has come in and installed a different style. It's very exciting to be involved in. The longer the season goes on, the stronger we will become."
The 20-year-old has featured heavily under Rodgers this season, playing 23 times in all competitions.
