Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly been identified by Liverpool owner John W Henry as the ideal candidate to replace Kenny Dalglish at Anfield.
Henry dismissed Dalglish yesterday following the club's worst season in Premier League history.
The American will now fly to England to begin the interview process to find the Scot's successor and, while bookmakers have installed former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas as the early favourite for the position, Rodgers is top of the owner's shortlist, according to The Sun.
Rodgers has enhanced his reputation significantly over the past two seasons, following up promotion from the Championship with an 11th-place finish in the Swans' debut Premier League campaign.
